We provide Certified Mold Testing

If we do find mold with our FREE Mold Inspection, the next step will be to gather evidence in the form of lab tests from air and surface mold tests.

There are two basic types of mold testing, air samples and surface swab samples. Air samples taken with spore traps are useful in detecting mold from hidden areas such as behind walls or behind baseboards. These samples are then compared to a baseline taken from an outside source. These reports make it possible to determine if your building is within safe legal binding levels.

By knowing what is normal for any given area, we can determine if your situation is safe or if you need mold remediation. When mold is visible, we simply use Surface swabs. Swabs are recommended since several types of mold, including black mold are very toxic and can cause great illness. Especially to those with breathing problems are affected.

Before ordering mold testing it is a good idea to have a mold removal professional do an inspection.  Many times a test may not be needed and our FREE Mold inspections could save you a few hundred dollars in wasted money.

Provided that you already smell mold, or what you think is mold, you will want to determine for sure that you have a mold problem. Many times, there are other issues with dampness that will need to be attended to before any remediation for mold can commence.

The Certified Mold Testing Process

  • The mold testing process includes our certified mold inspectors taking mold air samples of three areas of the property. The first is taken from the suspect area, the second from a non-suspect area and the third is taken from an outside of the determined baseline region. The the three samples are evaluated for comparison. We can also take samples of several surfaces in the building, including supports, foundation, wall interior, etc. We also sample the outdoor environments around your home to know determine the mold that is present in the natural habitat. After the samples are identified, a third party verification of the samples and test data are sent to a trusted third party laboratory to perform in-depth testing of the samples sent.

  • After the mold testing process is completed, we are able to walk you through the laboratory testing results, showing which species of mold are present, what their effects are, and how much mold is present as compared to the natural outdoor environment.

  • We are then able to follow up to determine mold remediation strategies, and we are able to give you options to remove the mold, and rebuild/repair the structure as necessary to get it back to a like-new condition.
